The past couple of years, I have worked as a computer programmer in several different companies. I programmed in C++ and Java, primarily on Solaris and LINUX platforms. My work included mostly financial companies. I started my career at Citigroup working on trade processing and a data warehouse that stores Fixed Income Derivatives. I moved on to a small proprietary trading company where I designed and implemented the futures trading system that worked on the CME and the ICE.

During my free time, I try to be with my son Ari as much as I can. Given my situation, this is not always easy. I also enjoy travelling and playing computer games. I travel to Washington, DC very often, as my girlfriend lives there. I also volunteer in my shul in the capacity of Financial Secretary. Basically, this means that I am in charge of the shul's finances, which involves paying bills and employees while making sure that it happens in a timely fashion.

For tikkun olam, I would like to participate in a project to help improve Shalom Bayit and interactions between parents and children. In summary, I would like to contribute whatever I can to make sure that no one ever ends up like me (divorced), especially when it impacts children. I am not sure how it can be achieved. Also on the tikkun olam front, I'd be intersted in developing software for fund raising for synagogues and other non-profits. I developed the Shalach Manos system that my synagogue uses and automated a lot of the office processes for the shul, including payroll.

I grew up in an immigrant home (my parents came to the US two months before I was born). My first language was Hungarian, which is still the language that I speak at my parents' house. During my youth, my parents sent my sisters and myself back to Hungary every summer to be with my grandparents. This was a truly rewarding aspect of my childhood as I learned a lot being exposed to another culture and the opportunity to be with my grandparents. I also spent a year of college in Israel (studying in a Yeshiva).

I like to spend my free time with my son. I enjoy being with children in general (I used to be a pirchei youth leader, and also a Sunday morning teacher to three Yeshiva boys). I also enjoy travelling, cooking/baking, working on the computer, browsing the Internet, history, listening to classical music (I play the violin) and meeting different people. I also find it important to devote time to torah study every week, though recently, this has proven to be a challenge.

In a home, I believe that it is important to share responsibilities both financial and running the household. I enjoy cooking and am interested in doing a lot of the errands around the house. I am looking for someone who shares my views on this front.
